Prof. Rowena Naidoo

Rowena Naidoo is an Associate Professor and the academic leader of the Biokinetics, Exercise and Leisure Sciences Department, UKZN. As a registered biokineticist, Prof Naidoo has worked and travelled with various sports teams internationally and locally. Prof Naidoo’s research interests are in physical activity and sport among children with disabilities, workplace wellness, and anti-doping interventions for adolescents. She is the current chair of the KZN Biokinetics Association of South Africa (BASA) and has been working with the South Africa Institute for Drug-Free Sport from 2000. As the KZN Doping Education Co-ordinator, she convenes and facilitates anti-doping awareness education programmes for athletes, coaches, parents, healthcare professional and sports administrators at all levels of sport.
