Mr Alvin J Munsamy

Mr Munsamy is an optometrist, a lecturer and a course co-ordinator for the undergraduates in the discipline of Optometry at the School of Health Sciences at UKZN. He teaches and supervises at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, he also serves as an external examiner for
UFS. The aim of his doctoral study is to investigate the impact of retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) and ganglion cell layer (GCC) thickness on visual function in visually asymptomatic immunocompetent people living with HIV infection with and without ART treatment at immunocompetence of greater than 500cell/mm3 CD4 counts.
