Prof. Suvira Ramlall

Prof. Ramlall is the Clinical Head of Psychiatry at King Dinuzulu Hospital in Durban. She is both an active clinician and academic involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. She is the secretary of the College of Psychiatrists, and is also involved in examining registrars nationally. Her areas of interest are depression, spirituality and psychiatry, cognitive disorders, telepsychiatry, psychotherapy and medical education. She also serves on the provincial mental health advisory committee. She has contributed as an author to the South African Oxford textbook of psychiatry and is a co-author and co-editor of Talk Therapy Toolkit – a South African textbook for counsellors and
psychotherapists. She is actively involved with various community organisations in promoting mental health. Her role in DRILL will be to support the Research Fellows concerned with Mental Health.
